BVB General Contractors Raises $7,200 for Charities at Inaugural Clay Shoot
October 8, 2010
BVB General Contractors held an inaugural Charity Clay Shoot on October 8, 2010. As a Brighton based business, BVB selected Brighton's 27J School District Foundation and Front Range Community College's Foundation as the benefactors. Through the tremendous support of sponsors and participants, BVB raised $7,200 and distributed the money evenly to each charity.
BVB held the event at Colorado Clays in Brighton. The event began with lunch sponsored and provided by Brighton's Lonestar Steakhouse. Delicious desserts were provided and donated by the Bagel Bakery. Following the tournament Brighton Animal Clinic sponsored happy hour and awards were presented.
BVB is thankful to all the sponsors that supported the event. Sponsoring at Gold level were JOEARCHITECT and Wells Fargo. Silver sponsorship was provided from Platte Valley Medical. Bronze level sponsors consisted of The Campus at Longmont, Baer Dental, Hughes, Wedgwood & Co., Valley Bank and Trust, Team Heating & Air, Brighton Economic Development Council and The Brighton Chamber of Commerce. Station Sponsors consisted of Five Star Volleyball Club, United Power, Tiara Printing and EJ Cabinets.
The course featured fifteen stations that were fully automated, including a sixty-foot tower and a twenty-foot elevated platform. Fifteen four-person teams participated. Individual awards were given to the top shooters in three divisions, beginner through advanced. The most competitive division was the beginner division as the tournament format encouraged first time shooters to participate, learn gun safety and shooting basics. BVB's three owners (James Vigesaa, Cory Bleeker and Dan Brown) are avid shooters and plan to make the tournament an annual event.
